WiFi Plus  Multi-polarity Antennas Win Obstructed Performance Shoot-out

Brunswick OH -- Dec 1, 2004 -- (PRWEB) November 29, 2004 -- WiFi Plus, Inc. multi-polarity antennas proved significantly more effective than other popular antennas as reported in an Apogee Partners performance study released yesterday.

The study assessed the performance of commercially available panel, yagi, circularly polarized and multi-polarized 2.4Ghz, 8-17dBi antennas in real world, obstructed rural and urban conditions. Over 780 readings in 21 locations on two ranges were taken to determine the performance characteristics of all four antennas styles, offered by seven different antenna providers.

“WiFi Plus, Inc. multi-polarity antennas provide much better overall signal capture” concluded the report. “WiFi Plus multi-polarity antennas demonstrated usable signal capture 44% better (to 780 feet) in the obstructed rural environment, and 36% better (to 1,115 feet in the very heavily obstructed, urban environment”.

A 105% performance differential was realized in signal capture readings (including all reading locations and both ranges) between the best and poorest performing antennas. A 30% performance margin between the best and second best was recorded and a further 30% margin in overall signal capture was reported between the second best and the next grouping of scores.

The report noted that WiFi Plus multi-polarity antennas as offer high value in new WiFi system deployments to reduce overall system costs. The value of replacement current antennas in order to gain operational improvements of existing systems is also indicated.

Lyle Bunn, Senior Partner, Apogee Partners said “This test indicates that the multi-polarity antenna design offers improved performance, a broader performance range and increased application resilience. This can reduce the need for technical specificity, time and cost in antenna selection, while assuring connectivity needs are met.”

“Patented multi-polarity antennas from WiFi Plus have proven effective in harsh, highly obstructed environments such as a New York digital signage system, fire monitoring, and others, and in situations where WiFi Plus antenna performance has enabled large reductions in overall system cost” said Dennis Broderick, President of WiFi Plus, Inc., adding “this is the first public study that quantifies and characterizes the superior performance of WiFi Plus antennas”

The report said, “Antennas designed to capture available signal regardless of its state of polarization, (i.e. multi-polarized) demonstrate better performance characteristics”, adding “since antenna performance is a factor of several elements including gain, pattern, spatial diversity and polarization, and many variations on composite characteristic could exist through these factors, the readings taken during this study indicate that, while gain is an important factor, the ability to use availability signal is a key factor in antenna performance.

About WiFi-Plus
WiFi-Plus  holds exclusive patent rights on its proprietary antenna designs, which gathers multi-path reflection and refractions in multiple polarizations and multiple planes, achieving superior coverage in areas that other antennas will receive noise or drop out. WiFi-Plus multi-polarized (MP) antennas collect the available signal in a Doppler-like, 3 dimensional space and combine these signals to produce a signal that would otherwise be considered non-existent.

WiFi-Plus, Inc. antenna users include municipalities, telecom providers, retailers, corporations, military, public safety, emergency response, academic, research and government organizations. The firm operates through various distribution channels and recently announced an alliance with to advance the supply of electronic signage networks for retail, commercial and public information applications.
